lived in the Virginia areas of Norfolk, Richmond, Appomattox,
Amherst, Roanoke, Charlotte and Cumberland. |

| Circa 1850 of Peter Davis, born 1804
and his wife Frances Hannah Ranson Davis, born 1813. It is rare
to find family photos that were taken before the Civil War.
Peter and Hannah resided near Pamplin,
Appomattox VA before 1850, were they lived the remainder of
their lives. Their daughter Margaret married JWA Ledbetter.

Pamplin VA. This may be the home of Margaret Elizabeth
Davis and John Wiley Alexander (JWA) Ledbetter and where
John Peter, father of Royal Aubrey Sr., was born. It
is believed that Margaret's father Peter was instrumental
in obtaining this residence. Pamplin
is a few miles east of Appomattox courthouse where Lee
and Grant ended the Civil War. John Peter's grandson
Dan Ledbetter is in the foreground. |
